In the traditional bridal industry, there are many factors that determine the price of a wedding dress between the boutiques, bridal shops, designer labels, wholesalers, retailers, etc. All of these factors drive up the cost, and you end up paying much more. We cut out the middleman, allowing us to provide you with the highest quality custom wedding dresses and custom formal gowns, using a reasonable pricing system, allowing us to provide something unique for each and every client!

The total price for a custom bridal gown is determined by a number of factors, like fabric selection, embellishments, and design complexity. Like every client’s vision, every project is unique and we create personalized production quotes for each and every client based on their own custom design.

The design and creation timeline for a custom wedding dress typically ranges from 6 to 12 months, depending on the complexity of the gown, materials used, and your wedding date. We recommend booking your consultation as early as possible—ideally a year in advance minimum—to allow time for fabric sourcing, fittings, and any personalized design elements. Tight on time? Yes! We create custom veils in any desired length and design! We can create cathedral length veils, royal length veils, fingertip veils and more! We can create custom veils using the same or similar lace as your wedding dress or we can source the closest lace options for clients who bought their wedding dresses elsewhere, but are looking for bridal veils to match!

We don’t wear floor length dresses every day, so it is a good idea to try a few things on before committing to something custom! Be open minded in trying on designs with different necklines, dress silhouette and shapes as well as fabrics to find out what you love and don’t love! It can be very eye-opening!
• Budget: Understand the full costs, including the dress design, accessories, as well as final alterations to consider.
• Timeline: Ensure you have enough time for the entire design and fitting process. Leaving enough time for final alterations is also key in planning. It is better to start sooner rather than later so you have enough time to make decisions.
• Comfort and Wearability: As you’ll be wearing your wedding dress for an extended period of time, make sure to consider if your designs also meets your comfort requirements. We always recommend trying on similar fabrics so you can see how they feel.
• Designer’s Expertise: Have a consultation to see if the design team aligns with your unique vision and what the teams possibilities and limitations are. Make sure you do your research on the designer or design team to make sure your vision aligns with what they can accomplish.
• Alterations: Understand the alteration process, timeline and any associated costs. Just because it is a custom made wedding dress, your custom dress may still need some minor tweaks and alterations to achieve the desired fit!

Wedding dress alterations typically range from $300 to $1,500 depending on the complexity of the work—like hemming, taking in the bodice, or adding sleeves. It really just depends on what the dress needs, what the client wants done on the dress, and the types of details the dress has such as how many layers, beading, lace and so forth. Couture gowns may require more specialized work. We provide a detailed quote during your first consultation appointment.

Yes! We offer bridal gown alterations on any wedding dresses no matter where you bought your gown! We take outside designer label gowns as well as off the rack wedding dresses as well. No, we currently do not offer sewing alterations for menswear or everyday clothing. We are much more specialized and only offer formal alterations for womenswear. Learn more about our wedding dress alterations here! 

It’s recommended to begin alterations at least 12 weeks before your wedding day. This timeline allows for multiple fittings and any necessary adjustments. Starting early ensures your gown fits perfectly and reduces last-minute stress. If you can start sooner, especially if your wedding is in high volume months like Spring and Fall, it is advised to book your consultation earlier that 12 weeks.

Most brides require 2 to 3 fittings. The first fitting assesses the necessary alterations, the second implements adjustments, and the final fitting ensures everything is perfect. MOST of the time we only need 2, unless there are significant changes to the dress design and client measurements. Additional fittings may be needed for significant changes or weight fluctuations.

Bring the shoes and undergarments you plan to wear on your wedding day. These items affect the gown’s fit and length, ensuring accurate alterations. The shoes you bring need to be the exact height you plan to wear with the dress. It is good to bring all undergarments with you as well like spanx or boob tape.

A bustle lifts the train of your wedding dress off the ground, allowing for easier movement during the reception. There are various bustle styles, and your seamstress can recommend the best option based on your gown’s design and you can determine at your consultation if you would like one.
